Dr Clifton is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, sub-specialising in surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
He completed specialist orthopaedic surgical training in Perth, during which he finished first in his national class for the RACS fellowship exam and was elected president of the Australian Orthopaedic Registrar Association
In addition to the clinical fellowships, Dr Clifton underwent visitations with world leaders of upper limb surgery in France and Switzerland. He also has an interest in research, publishing numerous peer reviewed scientific papers and book chapters relating to the upper limb.
Dr Clifton has a special interest in shoulder and elbow surgery, particularly treatment of arthritis and sporting injuries. This includes joint replacement, revision joint replacement, arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures such as rotator cuff repair and procedures for dislocation such as the Latarjet (bone block) procedure.
He consults in the public system at Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park Hospital and accepts privately insured patients and workers compensation injuries.
